A patrol of the urban authority in El-Had Market in Agadir arrested 3 British tourists of Bangladeshi origin after they were suspected to own and circulate counterfeit foreign currency in the southern Moroccan city.
The arrest came after a merchant noticed that the money the tourists were using was fake. He ran to inform the authorities, which were immediately mobilized to find out about the occurrence.
The authorities arrested the three tourist in a shop while in the act of using the counterfeit money. The instant search they conducted led to the discovery of another 80 fake banknotes.
The tourists were then taken into custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecution as an investigation began to uncover the details of the incident.
