Ivanka Trump is set to pay a visit to Morocco in the beginning of November to promote her women economic development initiative, called Women’s Global Development and Prosperity (W-GDP).

The announcement came few days after its meeting with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nasser Bourita.

In a statement to the Associated Press, the daughter of the US president lauded in Morocco’s “progress in promoting gender equality” under the guidance of King Mohammed VI. She also affirmed that Morocco is a valuable ally for the US.

Ivanka Trump, who also holds the position of her father’s Head Advisor, has a number of meetings scheduled ahead in Casablanca and Rabat to discuss women’s economic empowerment. She will be accompanied with the CEO of the Millennium Challenge Corporation

Last August, Ivanka Trump praised Morocco’s adoption of a legislative framework for the Soulaliyat lands, allowing more equality and encouraging investment in favor of women.

She said in a Tweet, “We applaud the Moroccan gov. for this important step towards the adoption of inheritance law amendments & look forward to supporting their full implementation. W-GDP will continue to support women’s land rights & I appreciate the strong leadership of HH Princess Lalla Joumala.”

Women’s Global Development and Prosperity that Ivanka Trump heads is a program that attempts to contribute to the economic empowerment of women. The United States Agency for International Development, USAID, has allocated a budget of 50 million for this program.
