Numerous videos of the protests that were triggered by the inhumane killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota, showed protestors carrying the Moroccan flag. Moroccan social media users began sharing these videos, raising the question about the connection between the protests and the national flag. However, it turned out that these protests are adherent of a religious denomination that calls itself the Moorish Science Temple of America and whose members claim to be the descendants of the Moors that lived North Africa.
