Decision makers at Facebook are currently considering a test to hide the number of likes on Facebook posts.
News sources all over the world have reported this information, stating that the reason behind it is to decrease the pressure associated with competition on the social medial platform.
The American Magazine Bloomberg states that the security researcher Jane Manchun Wong, was the one first revealed this information to the public. She adds that only the person behind the post will see the number of likes that his post has attracted, and not the others.
When contacted by different news sources that inquired about the veracity of this information, Facebook confirmed it but stated that it was too earlier to test it widely.
A similar test was conducted last year in Canada on the Facebook-owned photo-sharing app, Instagram. This year, however, hiding the like count has already been executed on Instagram in Canada as well as 7 other countries.
