Britain’s Ambassador to Morocco, Thomas S. A. Reilly has made a visit on Tuesday 3rd to flood-stricken village of Imlil to check on the locals, and take part in the reception of schoolgirls that benefited from a local social initiative.

Local news sources have covered the visit of Thomas S. A. Reilly, the British Ambassador to Morocco, to the village of Imlil near Marrakech. The visit came two days after a sudden flood swept away people’s cars and other properties, and destroyed a few bridges.

During the visit, the British Ambassador also oversaw the reception of schoolgirls that benefited from an initiative carried out jointly by EFA Morocco, an association that promotes education beyond primary school for girls from the rural communities of the High Atlas Mountains, and a mountain retreat in the village of Imlil, called Kasbah Du Toubkal. This same retreat was visit by prince harry and princess Meghan during their visit to Morocco last February.

The Ambassador expressed his appreciation for the initiative that came out of the partnership between the mentioned institutions in a Tweet on Tuesday.
