President Erdogan to Visit Morocco

Morocco’s Monarch, King Mohamed VI, has sent an invitation on Tuesday 24th to the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to visit Morocco.

The news came out during a statement of the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu following his meeting with his Moroccan counterpart, Nasser Bourita, on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly.

“We discussed during this bilateral meeting the organization of a visit at the highest level between Morocco and Turkey. President Erdogan has received an invitation from King Mohamed VI to visit Morocco” said the Turkish Minister.

The Turkish official also revealed that his visit to Morocco will precede that of President Erdogan, whose date has not been determined, in order to “Coordinate and prepare for the President’s visit to the Kingdom.”

Cavusoglu, who stressed that the meeting with the Moroccan Foreign Minister was “fruitful,” reiterated the commitment of his country to develop bilateral relations, pointing out that Turkey views Morocco as a sister country. The Turkish official also praised the stability of Morocco in the region.
