The British authorities have revealed that the 39 victims founded dead in the container of a refrigerated trailer in Essex’s Industrial estate are all Chinese.

The international community was at shock yesterday after the British authorities have announced the discovery of 39 bodies of one teenager and 38 adults at Grays’ Waterglade industrial park in Essex, 40 km east of London, on October 23.

According to The Guardian, the lorry that carried the container came from Hungary through the Welsh port town, Holyhead. A 25-year-old driver from Northern Ireland was arrested on suspiction of murder.

The British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, said in a Tweet this morning that he is “appalled by this tragic incident in Essex. He explained that he is “receiving regular updates and the Home Office will work closely with Essex Police as we establish exactly what has happened

The Chief Officer Andrew Mariner quoted in the same source said that “This is a tragic incident where a large number of people have lost their lives. Our inquiries are ongoing to establish what has happened.”

The official revealed that he suspects the investigation could be “a lengthy process”, but assured that the British forces are “in the process of identifying the victims.”

“We have arrested the lorry driver in connection with the incident who remains in police custody as our inquiries continue. I appreciate this cordon is going to disrupt the activity of local businesses in the area and we will work to ensure that disruption is kept as short as possible,” added Mariner.
